Attorney Eric Erickson was born and raised in Spokane, Washington. He is the 4th of 5 children of Dr. Mayo & Elaine Erickson. His father served in WWII as an Army dentist. Attorney Erickson had a passion for learning many subject areas in school and in fact, besides law school, attended architectural school, as well as studied medicine in the Army, serving his country in the ER and trauma teams as a medic and physician assistant in the early 90's during the time of the Persian Gulf War.

Undergraduate School:
He was born in Spokane, Washington and graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1984. He also played NCAA Division 1 tennis for the WSU Cougar tennis team and walked onto the WSU football team. After graduating, he used his 5th year of eligibility to play on the University of California –Santa Barbara football team. He played in Satellite Pro tennis tournaments and earned his USPTA teaching pro certificate. He was also selected to play in the Washington State Centennial Games in 1989.
Graduate School:
For graduate school, he enrolled at the University of Michigan and studied architecture by day and studied law by night at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School. He also attended Oxford University to study International law.
Following graduation from law school in 1991, with the Gulf War going on, he sacrificed going home to a prosecutor job in Spokane, WA so he could join the Army and the call to arms for Desert Storm. He successfully passed the Flight Aptitude Selection Test and the Officer's Battery Test. Later, he was trained as a doctor’s assistant and worked as a member of the ER/Trauma Team at the Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Fort Gordon, Georgia. He also played on the All-Army Tennis Team and the All-Armed Forces Championships.
After an honorable discharge from the active duty Army in 1996, Mr. Erickson took a job in Orangeburg, SC as an Assisted Public Defender. Erickson's second legal job, following Assisted Public Defender, was working for the George Sink Injury Lawyers. In 1998, he decided to open his own practice in Beaufort, SC handling mainly criminal and traffic law defense. Mr. Erickson's Pro-Bono work has included serving as a Special Assistant Attorney General prosecuting CDV cases. The Erickson Law Firm now has a more general practice of law in scope and handles all of the different types of cases listed in our Legal Area of Practice Section.
